Beary Special News

Hello!  Today I have this card to share with you.  I made this as a sample for the challenge going on at the Get Inky! stamps challenge blog where the ongoing theme is "Newspapers and or Yellow pages."  What a fun challenge you should see all the ideas the team has!

I used a pre made 5 x 7 card, some scrapbook papers (blue= Creative Memories; patterned=Dollar Tree; a page from a local telephone directory; the "Beary special Cupcake " stamp from Get Inky!, black archival ink by Rangers; colouring pencils from Prang,; white card stock from Staples, distress ink in "spun Sugar" by Ranger, and some buttons from Dollar tree.

Stamping onto this type of paper is actually fun and makes for interesting backgrounds and creates the appearance of texture.  Colouring pencils blend very easily and smoothly on this surface too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hopping Snowflakes!

Welcome to...
The Creating Blog Hops Cafe'

Our group is here to inspire you every month with many different projects that have been made by some of the most amazing crafters that I know. We are dedicated to be here to inspire you every single month, on the last Saturday of the month, all year long. Whether it be a specific theme, season, or event.  So, grab yourself a Latte and hop along with us while we proudly show off our projects to you each and every month.

Your first stop along this hop will be with...

Robin Lane with Create-A-Latte

Here is my project:  3-D Snowflakes

I made a bunch of these in December to use as decorations and as gift bows, and I continued making more in January for this hop.  However this time I used some of the gelli print papers I made as the base papers.  I used some one sided printed papers that were just ho-hum to me and brightened them up with some acrylic paints and my gelli plate.  Once the papers were dry I cut each 6 x 6 inch square into 1/4 inch wide strips and began weaving and moulding the strips into these snowflakes.
I have posted on my blog in the past on how I made my own gelli plate and I also posted some other snowflakes I had made but with stamps.  Please, look back though my posts if you want to see what I did.
I have to say these paper snowflakes are much more appealing to me right now than the real ones! It is sub arctic cold here right now, even for Canada!  At least though if it is snowing it is usually warmer!!!!
Stay warm friends and thanks for stopping by.

Great things come in small packages... and a Blog Hop!

Hi, and welcome to the Get Inky! Farewell & Welcome Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from  the Get Inky! stamps challenge blog. If you happened to have stumbled into the hop mid-way be sure to start at the Get Inky! Challenge Blog for a chance to win a fun prize!
The blog hop is saying goodbye to our previous team members, and welcoming our current members, some of whom are new to Get Inky!

I am staying on this great team and I would like to say goodbye for now to the leaving designers, you are all wonderful and I will miss you.  As for the new gals, welcome aboard!

For my project I made some sweet treat boxes for my boys in preparation for Valentine's Day.

I used some scrapbook papers I had stashed away in a forgotten corner of my studio/craft-cave!  The collection is from Moose Mountain Paperdoodles, I used the Martha Stewart scoring board to score each sheet of 6" x 6" into these boxes.  It is such an easy project and fun( making these boxes can become addictive).  Using some white card stock scraps (Staples) and some of Ranger's Archival Black ink I stamped these sentiments and the cute eye from the new collection of stamps by Get Inky! not yet available (Faux Oval Stitched Pals).

Now for the fun part... Leave a comment on each blog along the way and you'll be entered to win:

* one of three one-year Inky Moonbeam memberships
* one Crafty Card Gallery app donated from Jennifer Restivo

I'm so glad you stopped by and look forward to inspiring you further. Now off you to go to (next person on the hop please link to their blog) to check our what she created.

Handmade or AnnMade flower

Hello, today I present to you my first paper jewelry piece.  Over at the Get Inky! Stamps blog the Design Team had the mission to come up with some "Handmade Flower" inspiration for the challenge this week.  I went outside the box of cards, ha ha ha, and made a flower choker style necklace.

To make this I used the "Dimensional Flower Punch Gerber Daisy" by ek tools and a piece of scrap paper from Cosmo Cricket (old stash stuff).  These punches are lots of fun as you punch along the edge of a 12 x 12 (or in my case 12" by whatever is left), roll the strip and glue it.  Before I rolled though I stamped with the "Love Bugs" polymer clear stamps from Get Inky!, and some Black Archival ink from Ranger.  I rolled the strip, glued the end, fanned out the petals and gave it a coat of Modge Podge.  Note that I recommend coating the strip prior to rolling instead.  I glued  a black rhinestone gem to the center (Bead Landing).  Finally I used more E 6000 glue and adhered the flower to an organza type ribbon (my stash).

I hope this inspires you to give a new to you craft a try as well.

Thanks for Stopping by.
