How To Add Interest to your Colouring

Hi, today I am sharing with you another idea I have on using the lovely colouring pages we make into a craft project.  I used my favourite Tombow Recycled Color pencils to color a page in my " Art of Coloring Animals" from Leisure Arts.

Step one:
Relax, and enjoy colouring.

Step two:  Make photocopies of the page.

Step three:
Adhere the page to a already finished background page in art journal.

Step four:
Cut out the bird and some flowers from the second copy, and adhere to the art journal page with dimensional adhesive.

Step five:
Add some glitter with glue to the centres of some of the flowers.

Products Used:

Received from Tombow (Brand Ambassador Program) Recycled Color pencils
Received from Leisure Arts "The Art of Coloring Animals"
Adhesive (my own)
Art Journal (my own)

***Note: some products as mentioned above were given to me to be used in projects by the named companies.**

Thank you for stopping by.

How To Use Those Coloring Pages in Projects#1

How do you use those lovely coloring pages you make?  Do you leave them in their book?  Or Are you wondering what to do with all those great pages now that you have colored them?  Well, I am looking for and finding different ways to take those small pieces of art I make and use them in other projects.  After all the time I am spending on making those sketches pretty I don't want my work to stay hidden.  I am enjoying coloring the pages of my Leisure Arts Book(s), with my Tombow Recycled Colored Pencils, and want to do something else with my works afterward.

So here is one way I am repurposing some of my adult colored pages.  I make envelopes.  Not just any envelope too!  I made a sturdy water-repellent container useful over and over again.  I made this particular one just to hold some relevant medical documents that I need to carry in my bag and have handy all the time.  There is information in those papers that just don't fit on those small medical emergency cards or a medical ID bracelet.  However, I found myself having to dispose of and replace my old regular envelopes periodically.  Now, I am hoping that this envelope will be able to last a long time, and keep those papers safe.

I started with a plain business size envelope available where office supplies are.  I opened up the envelope.

I made photocopies of my original colored page (Art of Coloring Animals by Leisure Arts), so I would have enough paper for my project.  I also want to be able to use the same Design in other projects.

I brushed on a generous coat of glue-sealer-finish (DecouPage) onto the envelope and the photocopies (back side).  I adhered the envelope to the papers and let that dry.

Once the papers were dry, I trimmed the excess around the edges of the envelope.  I then brushed on another coat of sealer onto what is the inside of the envelope.  I let that dry as well.

Once everything was dry, I proceeded to assemble the envelope back.  I just followed the grooves from the white envelope to create the folds and used a bone folder to make each fold crisp.  I adhered the envelope sides with my Tombow Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive.

To make a durable and reusable closure for this envelope I chose to use some thin craft magnets which I glued onto the envelope flap and back with more adhesive by Tombow( Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue).

Note:  I made labels with my DYMO Letratag® (my own)

Products Used:

One white business size envelope (already in my stash)
Leisure Arts Art of Coloring Animals Book (given to me Free by Leisure Arts)
Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue (my own)
Tombow Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive (provided by Tombow as per The Tombow Pro Brand Ambassador Program) available: www.Tombowusa.com
Tombow Recycled Color Pencils (My own)
DecouPage by Deco Arts Glue Sealer Finish (Helping Artists Program)

** note some of the products used in this project were given to me by companies free of charge

How to Make Colouring Pages #LoveSpringArt C.A.C

Here is how you can make your very own colouring pages!  Caught the adult colouring craze?  Want to make some unique pages to color?  Well, today is your lucky day.  Check out this video I made (Click on the title above or Link below) over on my youtube channel on just how easy it is to make some colouring pages of your very own.  Yes, even if you don't think you can draw.

All you need is some paper, a pencil, a permanent ink pen, an eraser, and a stencil or two.  This is a good way to find another use for those scrapbooking stencils you still have somewhere in your stash.  I know some of you have those, as I have some myself.  It's easy and fun.

While you are over at Youtube please subscribe to my channel and use the hashtag #LoveSpringArt to see MORE Spring themed inspired creative content videos.

*The Tombow products I used and mention in the video were purchased by me prior to becoming an Ambassador for Tombow.  If you would like to purchase similar products you can do so by checking out the www.Tombowusa.com site.

Thanks for stopping by.

How to market your Crafts and Art by attending a trade show.

Hi, I have been absent from blog land as I was busy getting ready to travel to Anaheim California to attend the Craft and Hobby Association Mega Show in January.  This year I went as an Exhibitor and a Designer.  I had my own Designer Display in the Designers in Action section in the centre on the Trade Show floor.  It was a very exciting time in more ways than one.

Here is a look at my Designer Display:

I wanted to showcase some of the Mixed Media Art I do in addition to the Designer Work I have done in the past year.  My Design Team work was displayed in photographs in an album.  Mean while, my published writing samples were in another portfolio.  Being a proud Canadian I also had a bowl of Maple Syrup candy for visitors to enjoy!

At the centre of my display I placed my latest project: The Artist Doll.  She got quite a bit of attention.  I did design her from start to finish and I stitched every part of her myself.  She is truly a Mixed Media Piece as I used cloth, wire, batting, paint, coloured pencil, and ink to create her (of course there's a lot of Tombow adhesive used in the projects in my display :)).  I sat her on a chair which I also made with a variety of materials.  I am also proud to say that her clothing and chair cushions were made with fabric Designed by fellow Canadian Designer: Kelly Panacci.  I used her "Little Critters" line of fabric by Riley Blake.

Going to CHA is always so exciting and filled with lots of emotions.  I have returned exhausted from my experience and excited for all the new ideas I have bouncing around in my head.  I hope that you will come back to see what changes and new experiences I have in the works for my viewers on Youtube, and by followers here on my blog(s).

I am also taking a moment here to announce that I have been offered the position of Brand Ambassador for Tombow for which I am thoroughly thrilled about!  So stay tuned for lots more of my projects with Tombow.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
