Sometimes, being creative can be costly. Because I was unsure about investing in a brand new supply, I decided to make my own version before I invested in the real deal. I am not suggesting that my take even comes close to the real deal, but it allows me to see how and how much I would use the medium before I invest the big bucks!
Another YouTuber (Link: Melissa Martin
• DIY RAINBOW MARKERS!) inspired me to make my own Rainbow Markers from inexpensive children's art supplies I purchased at my local Dollar store (Dollarama). By the way, I live in Canada.

If you venture into making your own, I have some tips.
#1 Use designated tools for crafts. DO NOT USE the same knife for food.
#2 Refrigerate the crayons before you begin, AND after slicing into strips. Trust me; this will help with the reassembly part. :)
#3 Be prepared to have messy hands.
#4 Have a sense of humour, you'll need it!
#5 Have fun!
I am still on the fence about investing in the more expensive kind, but don't hold me accountable to that! lol
